Pizza Crust

Preheat oven to 425 degrees

for best results, cook using a round baking stone

Cooking Time

10 minutes, then another 15


1 16 inch or 2 thin crust pizzas


  • 1 package active dry yeast (or 2 teaspoons from jar)
  • 1 cup warm water - not boiling
  • 2 cups brown rice flour*
  • 1/2 cup buckwheat flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons zanthan gum
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt


  • Dissolve yeast in 1 cup warm water. Add to 2.5 qt. mixing bowl.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients
  • Beat vigorously for 20 strokes or use Kitchen Aid Mixer with dough attachment.
  • Cover and let rest for 5 minutes
  • Roll onto baking stone. If preferred, divide dough in half and make two thinner crust pizzas.
  • Brush dough with olive oil and bake for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and add desired sauce and toppings. 
  • Return to oven for another 15 minutes or until desired


If you want a dairy free pizza, consider using Dailya cheese or spinach in place of cheese.
